Why choose our workshops,
they are more expensive than other groups.
I have been teaching photography to adults for a few years now and in my experience both as a teacher and a business person I understand the difference quality makes. As I am sure you all do.
Some groups offer the "I setup, you shoot" method at lower cost to you. The downside is, you get the potato but not the meat. Recreating those images is hard when you have no directions and guide lines. Years ago I took images of the sets and thought to myself, OK I got it ... but that was just not the case. There are many variables that have to be accounted for, and that only comes with time, practice and more hands-on education.
Our method is, "I explain, you setup, you shoot", this always offers a more realistic photography experience. Keeping the groups small also means you get to do more and can ask questions. For the money you are paying, no matter the price, you should be able to get clear answers about your workshop related questions.
To sum up, we offer a Ferrari at BMW price instead of a Chevette at Hyundai price.
I should mention to reduce our carbon footprint, we went green and use autoshare
so I'm not up to date on car prices. But I'm sure you get the point ;)
NOTE: Snacks and Refreshments will be served.
Space is limited to 6 participants

* The skill builder series :
Teaching good photography and business ethics helps the entire community of photographers in Toronto, not just the individual. Our goal is to assist you build real photography skills in a professional studio setting. To offer a Hands-on approach versus you walking on a set that is ready to go. Our time together is broken down as follow: Instruction, around one hour, followed by setup and shoot for the rest of the time.
Hands-on, hands-on and yes more hands-on. If you don't DO it, you can't fully learn it.
Most adults learn by using more than one learning stimulus. Visual, auditory and hands-on practice are the three things we use to really drive the point home.
Offer great "hands-on" learning experience to our clients and insure that they leave with a lot more knowledge than they walked in with.
Also create enough skill and professional pride to understand, accept and believe the value of your work. You spend $1000's on equipment, education, software, Technology etc. why should you work for free or peanuts.
