Meetup details changed: Ruby Hack Night

Hey TorontoRB members,

We've made a couple of changes to how the RSVP's work for the Ruby Hack nights, starting with the next meetup in February. Starting in February, the following changes will take effect:

  • We're upping the membership to 45 people for each meetup, since we have a lot more space in our new offices.
  • We're changing the date to the first Tuesday of every month. The first Monday of every month is a uniquely horrible time to schedule a meetup, as virtually every statutory holiday falls on the same date.
  • We're closing the meetups to RSVPs until 7 days before the start of the meetup. Hack nights are a popular event, and we want to give everyone a fair shake on coming. We'd also ask everyone to please mark themselves as a "no" if they're unable to attend, and give other people a chance to come. We'll be keeping an eye on repeat offenders, and if you consistently fail to show up for events, we may need to bump you in favour of people on the waiting list for future events.

Anyways, we're looking forward to a great year of Hack Nights, and hope everyone had a great holiday season!
