Walk and socialize to help shelter pups!

For those who can’t make it to the Mighty Texas Dog Walk this year, dog lovers can come together on a smaller scale on April 22 to exercise, socialize and raise money to buy puppy milk for Austin Pets Alive! (APA!) shelter pups.

When: Sunday, April 22, 2012 Meet us at 9:45am for a 10am start. Get to APA! (Town Lake Animal Shelter’s old location) by 9:30am if you’re checking out a shelter dog. (registration required if you're checking out a shelter dog. Email: [masked])

Where: Lady Bird Lake Hike and Bike Trail. Meet on Stephen F Austin Drive (close to Austin High School and Texas Rowing Center).

Admission: $10 for individuals, $20 for families Payable by cash or check (make it out to Austin Pets Alive). ALL MONEY IS DONATED TO APA!

Details: We’ll do just part of the trail loop to keep the walk short and sweet in case it’s hot! Bring your own dog or email us ([masked]) to sign you up to take out a dog at the shelter. Pack lots of water for you and your dog and a morning snack to enjoy during a mid-walk break.

The walk should take about 1.5 – 2 hours at a slow pace.

Great time with new friends! Next time we'll make the starting point a little more obvious because we heard some people couldn't find us. We had a total of 7 dog walkers with dogs big and small on Lady Bird Trail.

Hi everyone! Really looking forward to tomorrow. :)

Just a few details: Meet near the Texas Rowing Center on Stephen F Austin Dr. for a 10am start (so try to get there a little early to find us and park). If you have questions text or call me[masked]-1926. The walk will take an hour and we'll stop for a snack and photo mid-way so bring some nibbles if you'd like. See you then! :)
