Hendry Isles

We will be riding out to what used to be called Hendry Isles and Indian Hills. It is located on the other side of Labelle. They used to have a nice restaurant. We will plan to eat there with a restaurant in Labelle as a back up.

I changed the ride to the 22nd so that people could go the Cape Coral Art Fest. Also it was kinda short notice

Rich the ride to Hendry Isles is on for sure. I am actually going to make an attempt to check it out ahead of time. It used to be a stop-over point for a cruise ship that ran from west coast to the east via the Caloosahatchee River via Lake Okeechobee. They had a small airport and a 9 hole golf course, a hotel and a restaurant. There were also a few homes. That however was about 15 years ago.

The ride was great but Hendry Isles has changed and the old hotel and restaurant are no longer there. We did get some decent grub and the Glades golf course restaurant. Got to meet up again with some of the St. Pete group and saw the return of Larry & Sindee and Marv back from shoulder surgery. Maybe we can visit some sites in the Tampa Bay area.

It was a blast, great temps and the ride had nice views, what more can you ask for. The small restaurant on the golf course was cozy and the food was good after the long ride.

The weather was great and the ride was good... The group was spread out a lot... The ride leader did not manage the group and keep us together... The ride was not checked out before so... I thought that was part of the route planners duties... I rode sweep and could see most of the scooters except when the lead group would blast ahead out of sight... Usually,,, I have believed that the slowest scooter would be second behind the leader and that would set the pace for the whole group... Not done here, Bill... The group was good and the diner had good burgers...

We had a real good time the weather was perfect, it was a nice change of scenery for the St.Pete club. The Ft.Myers club has a great group of people we enjoyed riding with them. Hendry Isles is one of those old out of the way fla. places that I like to ride to. If you are looking for a quiet out of the way place this is it. They do rent cabins and R.V.spaces and they have a golf course and marina I would make the ride again.

Good ride. Suggest ride captain slow down so rear end stays with group. At times we were about a mile apart. Food was good although slow in serving.
