Spark 2013 !

Can't have a hot trade without a little Spark...............

Ever heard of Ted? Ignite?  A few of us discussed doing something similar to change things up a bit. Don't know if Ignite is trademarked or anything, but you can't ignite without a good Spark! (corny enough?)

To Spark success and present a variety of trading styles and thought to the membership we have our own version.

Members involved in trading will speak for a limited time on a trading subject of their choice.  Anything is fair game: setups, indicators, trader psyche, the crappy education you paid for, no holds barred! Except: please see the salesmen rule at the bottom of this page.

How does it work? The Ignite model without the timed 20 slide mandate.

Each trader will have 5 minutes to present their topic. Slides will be advanced at presenters prompting. At the end of 5 minutes the whistle blows and the presentation will stop. No exceptions. Speakers must be prepared to hit it hard in 5 minutes.

No questions allowed between speakers. The audience is encouraged to take notes. After all speakers present, each will return for question and answer, again for 5 minutes.

5 minutes is the limit! If we have just 8 presenters the Spark can easily burn 90 to 120 minutes just to work through it all.

After the Spark goes out, then the night is opened up for Holiday social. BYOB and BYOF.

I encourage EVERYONE (please see the salesmen rule at the bottom of this page) to participate and make your 5 minutes fun, entertaining and informative!  This can end up being a solid learning experience, both for presenters and audience as well as great networking for traders!  Its only 5 minutes and anyone can do it.

Remember, you only get out what you put in!

Please email the group administrator if you would like to present. We will add presenters to the list as well as topics as they become available.

MANY THANKS TO CHRIS AND THE FINE PEOPLE at COWORKTAMPA FOR SPONSORING THIS UHSOME MEETUP AND FOR THEIR CONTINUED SUPPORT!!

The no salesmen rule is always in effect. Salesmen are welcome, but must meet the Meetup challenge (in the about section) before presenting or marketing to the group in any form, fashion, directly, implied, casual, formal, accidental, third party, etc. Violation of this rule results in being banned from the group and removed from the premises for the remainder of the meeting. There is no benefit of doubt. We have done it before and will do it again, so don't try it.

Jay I may come and show how well the pivot points have worked this year. I now have several hedge funds I do charting analysis for. They found me on twitter @mpgtrader lol

I would think presentations would be limited to current members. New members would have to attend at least a few meetings before making teaching a topic. Logic being, a student of the disciline before teaching it.

I would like my 5 minutes in the limelight. I would like to present a 5 minute piece on the "dividend capturing" strategy.
