Volunteer @ Garfield Community Farm

Thursdays, 5:30-7:30pm; Garfield Community Farms; Meet @ the corner of Wicklow St. & Cornwall St., where people park. Hosted by Garfield Community Farms

Garfield Farms, run by John Creasy, Cornelius Frantz-Dieppe and Open Door Church, has weekly work days at its site way up on the Garfield hilltop, near the water tower. Here you can see a fully-functioning urban farm which'll soon have a Biodome from Mark Berger, and now has an herb spiral garden, a small peach and apple orchard, high tunnels, and plenty of raised beds full of vegetables, all run by two wonderful guys and their interns. And, of course, volunteers like you.

Bring a water canteen, and feel free to bring food to share! They'll have all the necessary tools to work with.

I'm surprised by the level of growth I've seen since becoming an organizer, it's given me more confidence in my abilities.
