We are meeting on the beach just east of the Sunnyside Restaurant on Lakeshore Blvd.

I was stuck on the TTC streetcar and it started to pour so I aborted my attempt to get down there. There were already dark clouds and light rain in my area before I left but I understand the paddle still was a go.

Ted, I hope I didn't sound accusatory, that was not my intention. No one can predict the weather...it was actually quite funny to have been out there under those conditions!!
We would all like to try again!

It would have been a lot better if it did not pour rain! The "instructor" gave the go ahead and assured us that the rain was heading in another direction???!

Hi Janet, I made my best guess about the weather. I was more concerned about thunder and lightening then rain because when participating in outdoor adventure a little bit of rain is part of the experience.

I see that we are supposed to get thunderstorms on Sunday...will there be a rain date?

40% thunderstorms. if we called every event due to 40% chance of a bit of thunder and lightening sometime during a 16 hour day we would not be able to operate.

First I would like to thank the many of you who took the rain in stride and made the best of it. Operating a kayak and canoe adventure company is not an exact science. If seasonal companies closed down every time there was the threat of rain there would be no out-door adventure companies. It has been a very difficult spring and summer to predict the weather this year. Our official policy is to paddle rain or shine but to try not to be out during lightening and thunderstorms. Yesterday I called the event and pulled you all off the water not because of the rain or the threat of eminent lightening but because I was concerned about how cold you would become after being rained on. A little bit of rain, if you are warm, does not hurt anyone. It is an experience that many may not be used to but it is a human experience. Thank you again for taking a little bit of rain in stride. LeeAnn and I will work out a make-up paddling event.

The boats for this paddle were brought down for you to Ontario Place from the paddling trips location at the Old Mill - this is not a regular paddle location - but I wanted you to experience this venue which in good weather is fabulous - especially since we can all gather at the Sunnyside Café afterwards - that is why the boats were not waiting for you and we made the paddle at 4:30pom - they had to finish the day paddles at the Humber and then transport the boats from their regular location for you to Sunnyside for us - this was done at no extra cost to you. Please send me your email and phone number for the free paddle. If you have already paddled the Humber - perhaps you want to wait
until Sept/Oct and do a Fall Colours paddle - Thank you for your patience and understanding - the weather this summer has been completely unpredictable!!

I am a group of three. Just wondering, how long is the trip from the beach to Ontario Place? Also, what happens in the event that it rains? Sorry. We are doing this for the first time, so would like to know. Thanks.

I'd love to come but I have guests arriving to my cottage rental for that time period, so we need to prepare the cottage for our guests coming from England.
