Hello Everyone,

As far as DMZ tours go there are two main areas.

There is Im Jin Gak area to the north west where you have the Freedom Bridge and across it Tunnel #3. Also the observation deck which you can see Gaesung Industrial Complex and North Korean towns.

Then there is Cheol Won area which is about 1 hour to the East from Imjingak and directly north of Seoul where you can go to a very nice observation deck and Tunnel #2 as well as a battle field where a soldier currently on guard who speaks English gives us a great tour.

The difference is that Im Jin Gak area is more famous (gateway to Gaesung business complex as well as Panmunjum with the main bridge that would connect north and south) and more crowded and more developed with food stalls and fanfare.

Cheol Won area is much more quiet and has preserved more of the way it has been for decades. Also this area they are more lenient regarding picture taking. Most people say this part of the DMZ is much better. But its really difficult to skip the more famous Imjingak side.

Tours only do one or the other.

But since its tough to decide because each offers unique view of the DMZ we should do both!^^

This is the best DMZ tour in Korea. Other "DMZ tours" do only half the trip. Its like getting half the meal or watching half of a movie. ^^

To do both areas we have to leave early and stick to schedule.

This time the monorail ride up to the observation deck is included in the price!^^

Also the explanations provided by me William Cho is probably the most thorough explanation of the DMZ and North Korea. There is a lot of background history to know. Also there will likely be a North Korean defector that will answer your most insightful questions. It is fascinating when you here what life is really like in North Korea. For example don't you want to know if those people who cried when Kim Jong-Il died were really crying or fake crying?

We must receive passport # or ARC # IN ADVANCE so we can print it out on a list to submit. And you MUST bring your passport or ARC with you. You must have either with you to get past. Please include this information in the email ([masked]) you send to us.

There is no dress code except that you are not wearing something obscene or something that could be a problem walking in Seoul. Also Korean nationals can join.

For lunch you will be free to choose from a variety of Korean restaurants including within walking distance:
Marinated Beef Bulgogi
Hot Clay Bowl Bi Bim Bob
Kalgucsoo Mandoo Dumpling Noodle House
Tofu House

If you are a fast eater you will have time to walk down to the canyon. Also there is a statue of Im Kuk Jeong who is Korean Robinhood. Fought the rich for the benefit of the poor.
