David Downie Paris To The Pyrenees at Book Passage

Meet me at Gott's Roadside at the Ferry Building before this event at 4:30 p.m. We'll walk to Book Passage which is in the same building close by and be there early to get seating.

At 6 p.m., David Downie is speaking at an author event on Paris to the Pyrenees and how he trekked 750 miles south to Roncesvalles, Spain. His book follows their eccentric route: 72 days on Roman roads and pilgrimage paths--a 1,100-year-old network of trails leading to the sanctuary of Saint James the Greater. It is best known as El Camino de Santiago de Compostela-"The Way" for short.

He's also a food and wine author

He was from S.F. and moved to Paris in the '80s and looks like he will be a fascinating author to hear about travel experiences.
