Join me for a leisurely walk at Contra Loma Reservoir in Antioch. I was there this morning and the scenery was fantastic as everything's green and the weather is perfect. You have to go here before it gets warm. There's lots of wildlife to see that you just can't miss!
Wildflowers are abloom like vetch (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vetch), mustard, magnolias, poppies and more.
The ranger was there today and showed information that San Juan Batista was here in 1776.
Park on the James Donlon side of the park and meet me in the left parking lot. I have a light brown Hyundai.
We'll walk up a short hill and the lake takes about an hour to ramble around. I usually talk to people and that takes longer.
Then we can go to Schooners Brewery for lunch at 4250 Lone Tree, Antioch and to hang out afterwards. They have an extensive menu of food and beer/brew.
The park is reached if you're coming from Concord and exit at Lone Tree. You go west a few miles then turn right onto James Donlon Road then look for the park after about two miles on the left.
The park charges $5 entrance on the other side but I park in the free lot.
