Thai temple in Berkeley

You might have missed or I missed finding you today at the Thai Temple in Berkeley.  I'd do it again if I can fit it into my Sunday schedule which is usually lunching with relatives/grandchildren or enjoying my Sunday paper with breakfast.

The Temple is only a block from Ashby BART station and if you go early as I did like 10 a.m., it's not so crowded.  People come out around noon.

I bought tokens for one plate $6 and for mango & sticky rice, $5.  There was a long line for soup, another for an extensive amount of vegetarian dishes and a third less crowded line for meat dishes.

I thought the food was delicious and had chicken with cashews, vegys & rice finding out later I could have paid $7 for two items.  The mango & sticky rice was larger than expected with a distinctive purple rice, sticky rice and lots of mangos.  There was also another treat the women made of a custard texture with cinnamon but that cost another $6; it's said to be sold on the streets in Thailand.  I'll come back to try that another time.

Take a gander through the flea market in front of BART to see a mixture of ginger drink, fresh fruits & vegetables, African statues, CDs, clothing, musicians and more.

So if you want to repeat the lunch, I could do it in July if there's a larger turnout.  People sign up then they cancel; life gets busy, something comes up or whatever!
