Mexico cruise

Strike or not, we're going on the Mexico cruise!  Plans were to take the Megabus but I need BART to get to the bus as I come from the Delta.

The alternative is Amtrak out of Oakland or San Francisco.  A bus leaves Oakland's Amtrak Station on 10/27 around 10 p.m. connecting to a train in Santa Barbara reaching L.A. Union Station around 9:30 a.m.  That's just in time for breakfast and to hop on the Metro to Long Beach.

You can also get on Amtrak in Antioch at 6 p.m. or Martinez at 8 p.m. to connect to the bus in Oakland.  The bus from Oakland Amtrak stops in S.F. next so check the time schedule on

Price is total of $73 but if you're a senior over 62 you pay $62.05.

Third alternative is I'd have to drive to L.A. but that would cost for gas and parking at the pier.

Hopefully, the strike will be over soon so we don't have to change plans.  I paid for airfare returning to SFO.  I'll decide by the end of the week as I don't think the strike will continue with the recent fiasco.
