2009 Waterfront Festival

  • June 13, 2009 · 1:00 PM

Hi All, Come join us on for the 2009 Waterfront Festival at Yahara Park on Near East Side of Madison to officially kick off summer. There will be a number of great international bands playing over two days. Come as you are for some good dancing and cold beer. Please refer to the attached link for more information. Yahara Place Park is breathtakingly situated on the northern shore of Lake Monona where it meets the Yahara River just a couple of blocks from Williamson St., Schenk's Corner, and the O'Keeffe/Marquette school complex. This is a very residential area so bus, walk or bike to the event if possible. The event is handicapped accessible and free to the general public. . Waterfront Festival Details Link

Well I made it, but I forgot my bike lock and didn't feel like riding back and getting it--so I just hung out in the back with my bike, didn't see Paul...but it was a good day.

Though I had never been there, the venue sounded interesting. The first band was really good! (They're actually going to be playing at Summerfest in Milwaukee!) The festival's location on Lake Monona is delightful, and the weather was perfect! In my opinion, though, the park is too narrow/not enough room for the vendors AND the people coming to enjoy the music & food. If I was just coming for the festival, I would say that it's definitely worth it, but that's not why I came.
