Paul Baumgartner, a member of my Outdoor & Snow Lover MeetUp, is running a kayak trip to the Apostle Islands and he sent the following email to me. I will post the info on the MeetUp site, but I wanted to give you all a heads up on this and any interested person can contact Paul directly.
"I'm planning a kayak/camping trip through the Apostle Islands the week after Labor day. I have had people cancel so there
some open spaces for the trip. The final choice of days will depend on camp site availability. The plan is we will drive up
on September 7th, start the trip on the 8th. Spend 3 nights and 4 days on the water camping along the way. The reservations
will be made 30 days before the trip. (Park rules) The trip will include visits to sea caves and light houses along with
This trip is for serious kayakers only. You will need to be able to get in you kayak in deep water, paddle for 4-5 hours at
a time and have a wet suit and camping gear. There is rental equipment available.
I am an experienced and safety conscious kayak paddler. I have done this trip before. We will not start in tall weather but
you will have to be able to deal with any weather that comes alone.
