Coding Web Pages By Hand: An Intro to HTML & CSS (Part 1)
Behind every web page lies HTML to create headings, paragraphs, links and images. With CSS you beautify your web pages by changing colors, spicing up fonts, and moving things around. Come learn how to code a web page and control the design.
A number of our meetup members have requested a more detailed look at HTML and CSS. I've decided to do a multipart series on HTML & CSS to help everyone get a better grasp. I don't have the details of each meetup or know how many it will take. However, part 1 will deal with the harsh basics of creating a web page by hand. Actually, part 1 may only be HTML and no CSS until part 2 - we'll see.
People who will benefit:
- Those totally new to HTML/CSS
- Someone using Dreamweaver, GoLive or other web page design tools who want a better understanding of the website code that is being created
- Current developers wanting a better understanding of proper web page creation and coding standards (these concepts are helpful for search engine optimization)
- Bloggers wanting to learn how to tweak their site template code
- Anyone wanting to brush up on their HTML and CSS skills
Please invite everyone and promote this wherever you can. I know there are many people in the community who would find this helpful but I need your help reaching out to them.
Directions can be found here: http://www.thescene.u...
Large screen digital projection will be used at The Scene for the presentation. The Scene has FREE wireless Internet access, so everyone is encouraged to bring their laptops! Coffee, tea, sodas and snacks are available in The Scene cafe.
