Marty Shaffner, Keys to Catching More Trout
Marty Shaffner is a fishing guide for smallmouth bass and trout in northwest North Carolina and southwest Virginia. He is also a freelance outdoor writer who is a frequent contributor to Wildlife in North Carolina magazine and a Pro-staff member of Ross Reels. Marty grew up in a fishing family and started fishing when he was too young to remember what age he was. Began fly fishing at 13 years old and cut his teeth on the small wild trout streams around Stone Mountain State Park. Marty has been guiding for the last decade on the New River for smallmouth bass and on trout streams in northwest NC, southwest Virgina and east Tennessee.
Monthly meetings feature informative and entertaining speakers, covering a variety of topics. See the Discussion Board for info about upcoming speakers. We also discuss club business and upcoming events, and usually have a raffle for some nifty prizes.
