Mantra and Chant Meditations for Deepening: Following the Sound into Silence

Mantra meditations with mudras and pranayama are wonderful ways to
shift the inner landscape of our thoughts and feelings, quiet our
minds, and deepen our meditation practice.

Mantra and Chant meditations provide a user-friendly tool to direct,
shape, and reinforce our highest aspirations and quiet distracting
chatter of what doesn’t serve us. They are also a wonderful
preparation for silent meditation.

Our words, whether spoken or as thoughts, direct our lives and shape
our becoming. They reflect our consciousness or lack of it, guide us
as a beacon or scatter our focus and undermine our awareness and
personal/spiritual growth. In common language, “where attention goes,
energy flows,” and when it contains a deep loving intention, it can be
powerful and transformative.

This class will begin with a short period of movement and breath activities to open and activate prior to direct experience with various mantra and chant meditations. After each meditation will be an opportunity sink into our inner stillness. Everyone will receive written and audio copies of the mantras covered.
