Rabbit Day 2013!

  • February 23, 2013 · 10:00 AM

In recognition of Adopt A Rescued Rabbit Month in February, plan to participate in our annual Rabbit Day adoption and education event at AniMall (in Cary Towne Center). This is our largest and most important event of the year! There will be opportunities for our meetup members to share information with other rabbit owners about the best ways to care for their pets.

There will be displays and demonstrations throughout the day on topics regarding rabbits as indoor pets. A number of local rescue groups will bring adoptable rabbits to the event. We will be raising funds to benefit rabbit rescue as well.

This year's theme is "The Great Carrot Caper". Our photo contest will feature bunnies committing "crimes" and captions for each photo. Time to catch those bunnies in the act! You can submit photos with captions on our Facebook page (facebook.com/trianglerabbits), or by email to [masked].

We are also looking for great examples of homemade cube and coroplast cages (let us know if you need more details). If you have a bunny abode you are proud of, send us a high quality photo to include in our display.  We will have a demonstration on building cube cages and would like to show people all the different ways you can configure a homemade cage.

Volunteers will be handling fundraising (selling raffle tickets, crafts, etc.) and education (answer questions about rabbit care, housing, diet, etc.). In your RSVP, please indicate the shift(s) you prefer to work: Shift 1: 9:30-12 Shift 2: 11:45-2:15 Shift 3: 2-4:30. Shift times are flexible. If you are not able to volunteer we would still love to see you, your friends and family at the event!  If you will not be volunteering please note that on your RSVP.  If you are crafty and are able to donate an item for our craft sale please let us know. All items welcome, none too small :)

Flyers will be posted soon on the meetup site for you to download and print. We will need help spreading the word.

We're looking forward to a great Rabbit Day event!

It was nice to be there and to participate. I'm happy to see that so many of our members are helpful and bring their talents to help make rabbit day a real success. Yes, I agree that more adoptions would have been nice.

It was nice, as always, to see everyone there. I think the displays and the rabbit toy making table were really good and the kids enjoyed the scavenger hunt. Bob and Thea were great.
I just wish a few more adoptions had taken place.

I believe I said I'd be there for the 2nd shift. Sorry I cannot make it for 1st shift. It's a 2 hour drive, and I didn't want to commit to it and not be able to make it.

Think I already responded about the shift, but if not, I'll be there for the 2nd shift and will probably stay for the duration.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
