Chapter 16 of 21 Ways: Drawing

  • Sep 19, 2012 · 7:00 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

Optional dinner and socializing at 6pm

Official roll call and start time at 7pm

In September, we will be exploring what many have described as one of the most fun (and enlightening!) chapters in Mary Greer's 21 Ways to Read a Tarot Card.

Our long-time member, Dana, has had dibs on this chapter since the beginning, and I think you will soon see why.

In Chapter 16, we will go even deeper into the layers of meaning in our chosen card by sketching stick figures of the image. Thus, no artistic talent is needed! In fact, the simpler, the better!

If you have crayons or colored pens, bring them! We'll have extras, of course, and paper will be provided.

Remember to bring your journal and the card that you've been working with.

IF YOU ARE NEW to our group and/or have missed any of the earlier chapters, no problem! It's set up so you can join in any time, and we'll help you get started!

Don't procrastinate! This is likely to be a very popular chapter, and RSVPs will probably fill up fast!

As usual, also be sure to bring your Tarot decks, your latest "show and tell" acquisitions, announcements, tales of your recent Tarot adventures, and other topics to discuss! If there is time at the end, we always love to share and practice reading for one another.

Please remember: If you are going to order one of Bocci's delicious dinners, you need to give yourself (and the restaurant staff!) at least 45 minutes, before we start at 7.

After 7pm, we'll need room to spread out, take notes, and work with our cards, safely away from the olive oil and marinara!

A happy helping of new members plus our faithful regulars! And Dana outdid himself! Excellent preparation and thought went into his presentation and it paid off! It was huge fun, providing amazing insight and fresh new ways to understand our cards. Thank you everyone!

I want to come so bad but it's so far away for me to be driving a moped! Is there a carpool going on for this?

Does anyone have a Mythic Tarot deck they would want to part with? I would love to find a deck. I have the book. I will be happy to buy it from you. Please contact me if you do: [masked]

    To all attendees,

Beth got it right above, your artistic drawing ability is irrelevant for this class. Rather your ability to simplify to get to the essence of things is what will be drawn out next Wednesday. All you need is the ability to draw simple geometric shapes (squares, rectangles, triangles, ovals, circles) and stick figures. And we will practice these in class. Be sure to bring your choosen card, and the 3 card spread we used first in chapter 11 and several times since then. If you don't have a 3 card spread look at chapter 11 and select one before class. If you have crayons bring them, if not I am bring a bunch to share and paper too.
Also as a special treat if you come to class you will get to meet my daughter, who is visiting me before she flies off to India.
