Third Saturday Solterra Vegan Potluck

  • April 20, 2013 · 6:30 PM
  • Solterra Common House

Solterra is a co-housing community in Durham off of Randolph Rd. at Erwin.  The ONLY entrance is off Randolph, tho mapping programs/GPS may say otherwise.  Please be mindful of residents' yards when you park, as well as not blocking the fire entrance.

We open the door at 6:30 PM and serve AT 7.  Latercomers are welcome but may get slim pickings!  Please label your dish's ingredients, or bring your recipe to display.  All types of vegan food are welcome.

If you have any questions, please call Sue at[masked] or email [masked].  After 6:15 the night of the potluck, you may call the Common House phone at[masked]-1418.

This is a family and kid friendly event!

We hope you will join us!

Very nice potluck last night. Lots of people and wonderful food, lots of clean up help. I appreciate everyone being conscientious of parking issues.

When the number signed up hit 35, I put a cap on it...because some folks not on meetup come and our parking is limited. I could not figure out how to do a waitlist or anything. Jody, if you can do this, please do. I saw that the number had dropped to 33. I'm much more concerned about the number of cars than the number of people...
    THanks,
    Sue

Thanks Stephanie. In the past I thought there was a way for me to set this, but I couldn't find it when I looked.

Tom and I can park elsewhere and walk to Solterra if need be. Any suggestions for public parking nearby? Or can we park on the side of the main road?

    April 18, 2013

    • Sue

Hollow Rock Swim and Tennis Club is across the road--people have parked there and walked in the past. There is also Forest View School across Erwin, good for carpooling but a pretty good hike if carrying food on foot, Good ideas!

Is there a waiting list for this?

    April 15, 2013

    • Sue

Jody, as I said in an earlier note I put an end to RSVPs when it hit 35 people. Now is down to 33, but I cannot figure out how to do a waitlist or anything. Parking is the problem more than people, tho our plates are also limited. If you can rig a waitlist I'd appreciate it! Thanks-

I wonder if there is an unused (at that time) parking lot not far away people could carpool from? Just a thought.

    I'm working. :(

To Sue's parking comment: I'm coming in from Carrboro, if I'm on someone's way or they're on mine, I'd be happy to carpool.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
