Heads Up! - Vegan Brunch - Fiction Kitchen

Edit - Reminder - this is not an official meetup, but a heads up about an event you may or may not be interested in. The Pinhook is a bar and music venue full time and not a restaurant. You should not expect to find normal restaurant seating. Also, different people arrive and leave at different times. You may or may not run into someone from the meetup. But you should attend, enjoy the time and say hi. People are generally very friendly at the events I have attended! ~ Stephanie ________________________________________________________________ Come help us celebrate the fall flavors and lend our energy all month long to tasting the creations inspired by the Bull City Vegan Challenge! Thank you all for your input! As the chef, I do understand eating in a bar is not the most perfect dining situation, but the Pinhook does go out of its way to give us a space to meet. Please be sure, all the food is prepared off site at a fully inspected kitchen. The Fiction Kitchen also takes steps to make sure the food is kept at proper temps during serving. It is our hopes that support of this event will fuel the necessity of a veg restaurant in Raleigh/Durham.

I like the casual atmosphere of the bar. It is fun to lounge around on a Sunday, not disgusting at all. I'm just thankful to have something like this. It could be held in a closet and I still be ecstatic about it. I am amazed and excited by all of the people who attend, especially those not vegan and veg! Way cool!

Personally, I like the cozy and friendly atmosphere at the Pinhook brunches. After all, it is a bar - not a "fancy dining establishment". In my travels to different countries, I've seen places much more disgusting.

the people were very nice, but meeting in a place as disgusting as the pinhook bar dragged the whole thing down

The food was awesome! I have never liked grits before, but Caroline's grits made me change my tune! The tempeh and mushroom gravy was awesome and I am craving those fried sweet potatoes. Mmm! As usual, the company was the best.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
