I know this is short notice, but it's time to go back to Abyssinia! This restaurant is a group favorite. The service can be slow (do not come starving!), but the food is so good. If you have not eaten Ethiopian food before - it is an experience. A variety of tasty dishes scooped up and eaten with spongy injera bread - no forks! The vegetarian combo platter is a great place to start!
After dinner, those interested can head over to Kings Barcade to catch some music. Durham favorites Midtown Dickens (punk-folk/bluegrass) will be opening for S Carey (give the link a listen, I am unsure of the genre) with a show starting at 10:00.
As always, please practice courtesy and consider your RSVP carefully. There is planning involved for the person organizing any meetup and it is difficult when people frequently change their RSVP at the last minute - in addition to not being fair to others when an event is full) people on the wait list cannot always change their plans last minute). Let's also be good neighbors to the restaurant. We want them to welcome us back and give us great food and service - this becomes difficult when we say, for example, that we have a party of 12 and 6 people show up. If you need to change your plans, please practice courtesy and do so as soon as you know, not one day before or day of the event. Last minute change should be reserved for emergency things that pop up. Once you RSVP Yes, be sure to place the event on your calendar so you don't forget. Ok, enough lecturing - I hope you can make it and have a great meal with wonderful company!
If you are the type of person to take leftovers home, I urge you to bring your own reusable container from home. As veg*ns, we can be examples in the environmental movement as well!
Let's have another great dinner!
