I was talking with the good folks over at San Carlo about the Bull City Vegan Challenge and they said, “hey, we could do that!” So, I went back over and worked out the details: 3 course meal at a pre fixe price of $19.99 (plus tax and tip). For what it’s worth, I consider San Carlo to be quite possibly the best-value restaurant in the triangle, so I have _complete_ faith that the food will be delicious! Franco (the owner/chef) threw out a bunch of ideas, and we narrowed it down to this:
#1. Grilled-vegetable Napoleon with olive oil and a balsamic vinegar reduction sauce.
#2. Risotto with gilled portabella and Italian bread..
#3. Chilled fruit mixture with Gran Marnier.
(I’m not experienced enough with gluten-free to make any guarantees, but there doesn’t seem to be anything inherently gluten-y about the dishes (minus the bread).)
Additional: I locked the date to Wednesday and increased the number of spots.
