Event Description:
I'm super sorry I'm getting this posted so last minute!!
Stephanie asked me to post this more than a week ago and it totally fell out of my head.

I am posting this as more of a 'heads up', but if people are interested in going, you could always meet and drive up in a carpool.

Each year Richmond, VA has a great vegetarian festival (if I do say so myself, since I have often been involved in organizing/volunteering). : ) It's held in a lovely park right off I-95. There is food, music, food, nonprofits, food, a farmer's market, food, kid's activities, food, speakers...and did I mention food?? All kinds of restaurants prepare and serve their best veggie fare (and it's almost all vegan).

It's really a good time. And may be worth the drive up there and back - only you can decide that for yourself. It's about a 2.5 hour drive each way. I can tell you lots of people drive from Charlottesville and VA Beach each year.

Check out more details at and decide for yourself if you want to make the jaunt! The event lasts from Noon to 6pm - so you could arrive, have lunch and stay for dinner!

The event itself is free (though donations are happily accepted), you just pay for your food and anything else you buy. Even if you can't make it, you can make a donation to support this great event (educating up to 5,000 people each year about vegetarianism and other causes) at the website.

To carpool, please post your request on the message board. Hopefully this informal approach will work!
