Announcing a new Meetup for Vegetarian & Vegan Meetup of Chapel Hill, Durham & Raleigh!
What: The Window - Improv Theatre
When: July 20,[masked]:30 PM
Where: Click the link below to find out!
Meetup Description: And now for something completely different! How about an evening out supporting local theatre??? We'll go out for an evening of improv (but not exactly Whose Line Is It Anyway? though) and in the process support a fundraiser for Common Ground Theatre. Tickets are only $8! Snacks and drinks are also available for purchase - cash only please.
I have reserved 10 tickets for us. They are being kind and not making us pre-pay. However, if you reserve a ticket and then do not show up, you are conceivably taking money out of the fundraiser. If you do not arrive by 7:45 (show to start at 8) then you will forfeit your ticket. Unless you provide notice you are on your way. Common Ground is a small, intimate theatre. It does not have assigned seating (first come, first seated) and it is not conducive to late arrivals.
If you wish to attend, but the Yes RSVPs are full, please indicate this in your No RSVP. I can probably get us more seats with advance notice.
If there is interest in getting food or a drink before or after the show, post your ideas and we can try to organize something.
From the website:
Common Ground Theatre presents an uncommon night of improvisational theater featuring an all-star cast of Triangle area actors and improvisers.
The Common Groundlings (Jeffrey Alguire, Ryan Locante, Lamont Reed, Dan Sipp, Jane Allen Wilson and Annie Zipper) began working together in the summer of 2007 as a rehearsal group. After nearly a year together they are ready to unveil their labor of love, The Window, in a one night only performance that is unlike any improv show you?ve ever seen.
In The Window, all of the scenes take place in the real world we inhabit. The difference is that in these scenes people confess their darkest secrets. Characters say the kinds of things we all want to say but never do ? opening the chest of secrets we carry around with us and dealing with the consequences. It?s a heightened version of our world where everyone is honest, everyone is vulnerable and nothing is off-limits. Some of the scenes will be funny. Some of them will not. If that sounds like your typical improv show, come see how different the world is seen through The Window.
Sunday, July 20th at 8:00 p.m.
Tickets: $8 (100% of the proceeds go to Common Ground Theatre)
