Announcing a new Meetup for Triangle Vegetarian & Vegan Meetup!
What: Heads Up! - Durham Central Market
When: October 25,[masked]:00 PM
410 W. Geer Street
Durham, NC 27701
So I am sorry for the late notice, but I just confirmed it was ok to invite you all. I will be attending, so if you'd like to go and meetup that is great. If you'd rather just attend on your own, that is fine also.
This is the first annual meeting for the Durham Central Market - and it's going to be a potluck also. The DCM is a group of people banding together to open a co-op in downtown Durham based on the Weaver Street model. You are welcome to attend the potluck (helping add to the veg options!) and sit in on the meeting to learn more about DCM and ownership. You will not of course be able to vote - unless you sign up to become an owner at this meeting.
I would love it if we could get more veg owners and totally represent!
from the DCM mailing list:
This Sunday is the first Annual Meeting of Durham Central Market. We'll be at the Trotter Building, 410 W. Geer Street (Foster/Geer.) We start with supper so please bring a dish to share. We'll have designations for veg, vegan, meat, and/or label your ingredients to help out those with allergies. Help save the environment - bring your own set ups of plates, cups, silverware, and napkins. We will have some disposables for just in case.
We'll also have Durham Central Market totes, t-shirts, and bumper stickers that you can buy, and a table for picking up your complimentary tote or t-shirt if you still need yours. If you've been thinking of volunteering to support Durham Central Market, we'll have ways for you to sign up and get invovled. We're grateful for your help Sunday, in setting up and cleaning up. Contact Heather Tunnell if you will help on Sunday: volunteer @ durhamcentralmarket.org. We love volunteers!
The Annual Meeting will include an update about the store's progress and the election of the board of directors. If you are unable to come to the meeting, remember to send in your vote for the board. An absentee ballot is attached. Print out, mark, and send to DCM, 538 Foster St, Durham, NC 27701. Absentee ballots must be received by Saturday, October 24, 2009.
