April Geek Movie - Oblivion

For the April geek movie night we will be seeing the action/adventure/sci-fi flick Oblivion.  Starring Tom Cruise, Olga Kurylenko, Morgan Freeman, Andrea Riseborough, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau.

We are seeing the 7:20PM show (non-3D/IMAX) at Brier Creek Cinemas.  Please meet us in the lobby no later than 7:00PM (I will have my meetup sign) so we can go in together and get seats.

Afterward the movie we will head over to the Red Robin for some good after movie eats and conversation.

Synopsis:

On a spectacular future Earth that has evolved beyond recognition, one man’s confrontation with the past will lead him on a journey of redemption and discovery as he battles to save mankind.

Official Trailer:

As with all geek events, we request a $1 donation to cover meetup fees, snacks and prizes for future events.

Interesting movie. More than I actually expected and had some interesting aspects to it. And afterwards at Red Robin we identified all the of the driving "techniques" we find annoying (which is important to know!) Thanks for coming out everyone. :)

If you are a Red Robin club member, you might want to check your email. For "select members" (whatever that means) if you spend $10 twice between April 22 and May 19th, you will get $8.00 off your next visit. Lucky for us we have two movies / two trips to Red Robin planned in that time frame. (If you aren't a member of the Red Robin Royalty Club yet, you should sign up and start earning free burgers!)

We will be seeing the 7:20PM (non-3D/IMAX) show of Oblivion at Brier Creek on Friday. The movie actually opened last week (I was out of town), so maybe it won't be quite as crowded (but who knows). Please be there no later than 7:00, since that is when we will go in to get seats together. I will be in the lobby with my meetup sign.

For our regular Geek Movie Night attendees, you might be interested in this offer from Fandango.com. If you buy a $50 (or more) in gift cards, you get a code for a free movie ticket. Since Regal (Brier Creek) uses Fandango and buying tickets ahead of time is sometimes wise for popular movies, this isn't a bad deal. It took about 36 hours after I bought the gift card for the free movie ticket code to be emailed to me. You can find the deal here: http://www.fandango.com/promo/freemovieticket?CJAFFILIATE&CMPID=cj_3125087

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
