About the CAM
The CAM broke ground in 2010 and was a project started by the NC State School of Design.

"CAM Raleigh seeks to curate the most contemporary works of art and design possible—those still emerging, growing, and living. We hope to spark new thinking by creating ever-changing experiences that explore what’s now and nearing."

Directions and Parking:

CAM Raleigh is located between Harrington and West streets in the heart of Raleigh’s Depot National Register Historic District and Warehouse District. CAM Raleigh has a parking lot and additional parking is available at metered spots on the street or at the Davie Street Parking Lot located at 201 W Davie Street.

As with all geek events, we request a $1 donation to cover meetup fees, supplied, snacks, prizes etc. for future events.

2 Strike Attendance Policy
Since many of our events fill up and have waiting lists, we enforce a “Two Strike” attendance policy. If you are a “No Show” or a “Late Drop” (dropping less than 6 hours before an event) it will count as a strike. After two strikes you are subject to removal from the group. So please only sign up for events that you know you can attend and update your RSVPs in a timely fashion if your plans change.

Good sized crowd showed up, some really nice people. Munching and chatting by the food truck beforehand was fun too.

It was a very fun evening. Some of us started with tasty sandwiches from the food truck and we then got our booties on and looked at the first exhibit. Then we saw what appeared to be a relative of Puff-n-Stuff made of paper, with others embarking on the wine tasting. Then we saw an exhibit of color and chairs. And then we finished off the evening with the AV Geeks educational films from the 60's and 70's about Solar Energy that were a scream. Who will ever forget that The Sun is big and like a balloon and it is hot and nothing like the moon, and it is yellow and goes away at night when we sleep. *everybody sing!* :D

Hey everyone! I am looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow for a fun evening at the Contemporary Art Museum (CAM) in Raleigh! They have lots of fun things planned (including food trucks!) I will be out front with my meetup sign at 7:00 to round everyone up and do introductions. I do have one groupon ticket spot if someone would like to purchase a discounted ticket from me tomorrow. See you there!

FYI: In looking at the CAM website, I see that there's a cool presentation at 8 pm.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
