February Geek Movie - A Good Day to Die Hard

For the February geek movie night we will be seeing the fifth installment of the Die Hard series where John McClane (Bruce Willis) is Yippee Ki-yaying his way through Russia, but this time he is joined by his butt-kicking (and sexy) CIA agent son, Jack.

We are seeing the 7:20PM show at Brier Creek Cinemas. we will meet in the lobby no later than 7:00PM to go in together and get seats (since this will be popular).  Look for me with my Meetup sign.

Afterward the movie we will head over to the Red Robin for some good after movie eats and conversation.

Official Trailer:

As with all geek events, we request a $1 donation to cover meetup fees, snacks and prizes for future events.

Meh, I thought it was ok, but I'm pretty forgiving of action films. Not a lot of depth or backstory to it, just straight to the action. Never got a sense of "Oh, how are they going to get out of THIS?" that the earlier Die Hards had...McClain winnage was a given. I did not find the son (or the guy who played him) compelling or charismatic like Bruce is. Worth it at the $2 theater if you are a Die Hard fan.

Well, it was released in Feb. so it is to be expected. I guess I won't bother to schedule a special $5.00 edition for Daphne and myself. :) Thanks for covering Barry.

Hey guys. I have the flu, but I don't want to cancel the movie event just because I can't go. Almost everyone going has been out with us before and knows the routine. If someone would volunteer to bring a meetup sign and round everyone up in the lobby at 7:00, you should be good to go. Do I have a sign volunteer?

Hey everyone - the movie times have been posted and we will be seeing the 7:20PM show at Brier Creek on Friday. Be there no later than 7:00 since we will go in at that time to get seats together. I'll meet everyone in the lobby with my meetup sign.

I am having an arthroscopic knee procedure done on Thursday. I'm hoping I still can make it - the doctor said I should be and after the last one I went shopping the same day. Of course I was in my 20s then lol. I may have to change Friday but will do it in the morning if so.
