Started in 2008, this is Triangle’s largest group dedicated to bringing Geeks together for a wide variety of fun and geeky activities.  Game nights, monthly movies, brewery tours, bowling, dinner and drinks, holiday parties, geeky educational workshops, night sky watches, TV and movie viewing parties, museum trips, festivals and tours are just some of the things we have done.  Check out the group calendar to see what we having coming up.

Geek events are ADULT ONLY (unless specifically posted as "kid-friendly").

According to Wikipedia:
"The word geek is a slang term, noting individuals as 'a peculiar or otherwise odd person, especially one who is perceived to be overly obsessed with one or more things including those of intellectuality, electronics, gaming, etc.' "

At the Triangle Geeks, we cast our net more broadly and include geeks of any persuasion. Photography geeks, cooking geeks, gaming geeks, science geeks, IT geeks, sci-fi geeks, etc.  Whatever your obsession is, we want you to share it with the rest of us.

Our Attendance Policy:
Since many of our events fill up and have waiting lists, we have a “Two Strike” attendance policy.  If you are a “No Show” or a “Late Drop” (dropping less than 6 hours before the event) it will count as a strike.  After two strikes you are subject to removal.  So please only sign up events that you know you can attend and update your RSVPs in a timely fashion.

Profile Picture Policy
We do require all members to post an actual, recognizable picture of themselves in their profiles, since many events are hosted in private homes and it makes it significantly easier for organizers to locate people in large venues and learn names.
