Assist a Python workshop for teachers!

Seeking teaching assistants for a Python workshop for teachers. This will be a VERY basic introduction with the goal of getting them ready & confident to do an Hour of Python in their classroom this Fall.  There will likely be a wide range of experience and abilities, so you'll get the chance to work one-on-one with teachers to help them understand what's best for their students.

Tripython will be providing lunch, so please only RSVP if you can make it the whole time.

We've got 1 TA signed up already, so I'll cap the TAs at 4.

If you are or know Middle or High School teachers who'd be interested in the event, please have them register here:

Thanks!  I'm super excited to help introduce Teachers to Python! We'll have follow up events going deeper and deeper, so shoot me an email at [masked] if you'd like to be involved in subsequent events.

Unfortunately, I have to bow out. Got a head cold and don't want to spread it around. Hope the event goes well!

Sounds great. Bring that along for the Q&A and self-paced practice. I'll send out more details to everyone who's agreed to be a TA ahead of time.

btw, if you want your python examples to be web based and interactive, check out Trinket. It's what we do :)
Embed them anywhere like you would a video. Here's an example:

I have "introduction to programming" material that I should be able to tweak to use Python examples. It might be worthwhile to have such a session in case one or more of the teachers is a n00b or wants help passing such introductory material to their students.

Not really. That's a great question I'll add to the signup.

I think future events we may have an opportunity to specialize subject-wise. There's a lot of interest from the Physics community, for instance. For this first event I figure we'll work individually to address any specific needs they have.

Do we know what subjects they are teaching? When I did an hour of coding this Spring, the teacher wanted to introduce her ESL elementary school students to coding.
