TriZPUG January 2013 Meeting: Python AI and Deco

Next TriZPUG Meeting: Thursday, January 24, 7pm at Caktus Consulting Group, 209 Lloyd St., Suite 110, Carrboro. Joseph Tate will demonstrate the Python solver for Pacman he made as a part of taking the BerkeleyX CSS 188 Artificial Intelligence course. Andy Leeb will present Deco, a drag-and-drop layout composition system for Plone which was developed at an internationally attended sprint in North Carolina this past September. As always, spontaneous lightning talks of ten minutes or less on other topics are also welcome. Anything you've learned about Python, no matter how trivial, can be a lightning talk. There's plenty of parking at Caktus and we can walk to nearby after-meeting watering holes.

    It was interesting to learn of the various search algorithms and heuristics as applied in the PacMan game. Thanks to Joseph for sharing the knowledge and the hard work that went into such a fine presentation. And thanks to everybody for the various contributions in discussion along the way. A very good meeting indeed!

    It is very nice to see the pacman demo. Very cool class! As a physics phd student, knowing that college computer science class projects have this level of sophistication is humbling to say the least...
