Dear Friends
Exciting news!
Some of you may know, I've been supporting the British Paraorchestra on various projects since the beginning of the summer.
The British Paraorchestra is the world’s first ensemble of professional musicians with a disability.
Last week saw the release of the Paraorchestra's brilliant new single.
It's aiming to top the charts this Christmas - we're all hoping for Christmas No. 1!
'True Colors' was released on Monday 3 December 2012 – the UN International Day of Persons with Disabilities – and features The Kaos Signing Choir for Deaf & Hearing Children and the voices of ParalympicsGB.
Please check it out on Youtube:

The solo voice heard at the beginning and end of the track belongs to Lyn Levett, from the Paraorchestra. Lyn has cerebral palsy and cannot speak. With state-of-the-art technology she sings through her computer in 'True Colors', for the very first time.
Here is the link to i-tunes for purchase:

Cost: £0.79 (79 pence)
Proceeds from sales of the British Paraorchestra's 'True Colors' will go towards supporting the Paralympics Team GB at the Sochi 2014 Winter Games, to enable The Kaos Signing Choir for Deaf & Hearing Children set up a new Saturday Signing Choir and to fund their next signed song DVD, and for the future growth and development of The British Paraorchestra.
Founded by British conductor Charles Hazlewood, the British Paraorchestra is pioneering a global movement to recognise and showcase disabled musicians with extraordinary abilities. Its mission is to end the limitations placed on them, not by their physical ability but by lack of opportunity. (see British Paraorchestra for Charles' TED talks.)
It’s been an incredible six months for the British Paraorchestra. They made their official debut at Orchestra in a Field, Glastonbury, in July. This was followed by headline performances at the Unlimited Festival, Southbank Centre, as part of the London 2012 Festival, and at the prestigious Snape Proms in Aldeburgh. The Paraorchestra composed and recorded the theme music for Jon Snow’s Paralympic Show on Channel Four, and also performed live at the Paralympics closing ceremony.
Channel Four’s ‘Great British Paraorchestra’ documentary, screened just before the Paralympics Closing Ceremony, followed the remarkable story of some of the musicians as they prepared for their debut.
The Kaos Signing Choir for Deaf & Hearing Children is an award-winning, integrated project that brings together children and young people aged 4 to 18, of all abilities and backgrounds. Since the choir began in 2005, they have performed for Princess Anne, and have been featured on BBC2’s See Hear and BBC Radio 3’s The Choir and they performed at the London 2012 Olympics Opening Ceremony.
Do enjoy the single, and your support is massively appreciated!
With love,
Laura
