Kevin - thanks for letting us know of this movie. I arrived a few minutes late as I was driving back from Fla and was in a traffic jam on 95. I LOVED this film all over again Friday night - it's the absolute best! I've seen it several times before. And Elaine - I hope you catch the end of the movie sometime as that's the best part!

I left early because I had an early am Saturday commitment. I didn't realize the movie was going to go that late. I'll have to see the ending another time. It was nice meeting people before. I too like to be able to discuss movies afterwards and meet the other meetup people, when time allows for that. Sounds like this one didn't.
Awesome movie! Thanks for organizing, Kevin.

Is anyone attending this from Durham? I would like to go but need a ride there and back. I live near Duke West Campus.

Wish I could help but I live in Cary
Cindy, if you still need a ride I live in Durham. I'll be glad to give you a ride

Aftab, I sent you an email. So far I don't have a ride, still looking for a Durham carpool

Cindy, I replied to your email; in any case, my cell phone number is [masked]; my office is [masked]. I live near SouthPoint Mall. If you want me to pick you up I can.
"Good guy" points in my book go to Aftab for giving Cindy a ride. My friend Wanda and I enjoyed meeting you both. Cheers
Even though we didn't have time afterwards on this particular late showing, Jim's comment is right-on: What's the use of having a Movie Meet-up group and seeing great films if we don't have sufficient time before or after to connect with one another, and explore ideas and expectations/reactions together!
I usually enjoy being able to discuss movies afterwards with folks as well, hence the reason that I posted a note asking if anyone might be interested in going out for coffee afterwards. (I got no takers from the post, but it turned out for the best as Cup-A-Joe now closes at 10:30...it may have always been that time, but my nostalgic memory seems to be pushing me to believe that it used to stay open later on Friday and Saturday nights, but I digress. If we want to help enhance the entire experience, I encourage each of us to help out the organizers by making suggestions for places to meet for discussions before future events. I met some great folks tonight and am really thankful to have had the opportunity to participate. Cheers
Thanks to Kevin for organizing and promoting the event. If it were not for his efforts, I would not have even known that this incredible favorite of mine was being shown...and I would have missed out on it entirely...So thanks again for organizing.
Great little movie. Saw it before but I didn't remember the ending like that. Lol. We go mostly every Friday and sat in our regular spot-- didn't try and search out peeps. Laura Boyle gave a great intro however some drones behind us felt the need to yak thru it. Laura ,the Movie Diva, provides a great venue and has terrific intros.

Great film. Too bad we didn't go out afterward to talk about it.
Would love to go but have early morning appointment
I just picked up my ticket for the movie at lunch and tickets for half of the auditorium have been purchased. Just in FYI.
FYI This is also available on Netflix (streaming and DVD).
Yup..and it also has a longer "Director's cut" that add 50 minutes of story to the film..but without providing any spoilers, I will simply say that the original theatrical version reigns supreme because it is ultimately more satisfying, romantic and befitting of the film's title. Also, this is definitely a "mood" movie, so the prime experience is definitely big screen with a crowd of people. For those who have never seen it before tonight, you are in for a treat.
oh i love this film. Looking forward to meeting you.

I just purchased tix for myself and a dear friend who will be joining us. Even though I own the DVD, I simply can not pass up the opportunity to see this on the big screen again for the first time since college over 20 years ago.

This is my second all-time favorite movie (behind Caddyshack, of course) but am undecided if I will attend. It is such a perfect film.. BEST ENDING EVER!!! Would anyone be interested in grabbing coffee at Cup-a-joe after the movie to discuss? It is such a wonderfully beautiful and emotionally moving film that I would rather see at the theater if I knew some folks wanted to discuss after.
company in town, but i LOVE this movie.
I got my ticket, ready to go!
