The Kings of Summer (matinee + dinner)

Kings of Summeris a 2013 American comedy-drama film directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts. This film is his feature directorial debut. It is written by Chris Galletta (his first script, previously titled Toy's House).

Synopsis: Joe Toy, on the verge of adolescence, finds himself increasingly frustrated by his single father, Frank’s, attempts to manage his life. Declaring his freedom once and for all, he escapes to a clearing in the woods with his best friend, Patrick, and a strange kid named Biaggio and announces that they are going to build a house there—free from responsibility and parents. Once their makeshift abode is finished, the three young men find themselves masters of their own destiny, alone in the woods.

This was a fun summer escape movie. Although, I don't see it turning into a classic like "Goonies" or "Stand by Me", it was still fun to watch and dinner afterwards was nice!

I really liked this movie. While "coming of age" films is not a genre I'm into, this was so charming and funny, and real, in its fairytale type narrative. Thank you for organizing! and I enjoyed the dinner & talk with folks afterward.

What a fun summer-time movie with an awful lot of heart and soul of the acting dedicated to the vicissitudes and various missteps involved in parenting- and - growing up! Although I thought the script could have relied on a little less dialogue in some scenes (the actors faces spoke plenty), the scene with the carry-out guy was comically priceless. Thnks Shawna!

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
