THIS SATURDAY: The Carrboro Film Festival

This is the eighth season of the Carrboro Film Festival, and it looks to be bigger than ever. They have two parallel tracks this year, one at the Century Center and one at the Arts Center. I'm officially scheduling blocks 3 and 5 at the Arts Center for us as a meetup. If anybody would like to host events for other blocks, just let me know.

Here's a list of the films in our blocks:

Film Block 3 – The ArtsCenter
The Doll Dillemma, Documentary - 10 min. - Jacob Rosdail
Death and the Robot, Animation - 12 min. - Animated and directed by Austin Taylor, produced by Alex Thompson and Julia Festa, music by Tom Hauser.
Crackerjack, Narrative - 97 min. - Edward Bryan Coley

Film Block 5 – The ArtsCenter
Heartbeats of Fiji, Documentary - 10 min. - Jon Kasbe
U-666, Narrative - 10:00 - Jimmy Kelly and Konstantin Sumtsev
El Cosmonauta, Narrative - 97 min. - Nicolas Alcala

As you can see, Block 3 starts at 12:45, but I'm listing the event start time as 12:15 since I don't know how full it will be. Tickets are available in advance, $10 for Saturday or Sunday only and $15 for both days (that's right -- it's two days, too). You can also buy them at the door.

Even if you don't want to formally host an event at another block, feel free to use the comments to arrange to meet people at other blocks.

I volunteer with the festival and was stationed at the Century Center all day. It was so fun. Hope to see some of you tomorrow. Pretty much all shorts tomorrow. Some really awesome!

I saw some nice 'shorts' (as in movies) today. The longer movies did not do a lot for me. They could have been edited A LOT more..

It's always difficult to figure out which block will be best. I did like block 3&5 and see I can stay for Blocks 7&8 I enjoyed driving myself crazy by watching as many trailers as I could-- some interesting choices. But Mark is THE FILM GUY and I'm going with his choices.
Sundays choices are easier-- all at Century Center and run from[masked]pm...

Having a hard time deciding between the 2 locations. How did you decide on Arts Center vs Century Center?
