I saw this film and wonder if anyone else felt troubled afterward at the idea that Belfort is making a profit from it.

Donny also went to prison, he did 3 years. Steve Madden served 2 years.

I know that people can't make money on their crimes, however this person seems good at getting around laws. I wonder if he profited from book or film.

An interesting article on the movie from Salon.com (I don't think it has been posted)

I thought this was a great movie. I can understand why some may not like it. Jordan Belfort is an ambitious and greedy man who manipulates the poor and desperate. I thought the film was very well done (DiCaprio and supporting class were excellent) and did not hold back on its portrayal of a narcissistic, immoral, and drug-addicted person. Addiction is highlighted here, causing more lapses in ethics and morality. I admit, I was in tears of laughter over the Lemmon 714 Quaaludes scene as well as horrified by his despicable character traits. However entertaining, I don't think the film intends to condone or glamorize Belfort's behavior. It's just a very well done movie depicting a piece of dirty reality, what people will do for money, and unfortunate for those who were scammed.

I think it is one of Scorsese's worst efforts. DiCaprio did do a stellar job ... did anyone actually like it?

Good movie but it was too long. Seems like a lot of movies are long these days , maybe they want to give people their money's worth.

The more the merrier. :) Do the women get equal time with naked men? Probably not.

As long as your son is over forty, it should be ok.

Should have been x-rated than rated R. Whew! Pretty raw, I say!

I just saw it, before you all posted it. It is all of three hours long and the theater in Morrisville showed a half hour of promos before it ... made it really long. Should I be posting reviews here? Let me know, I will refrain unless asked.
