Love is all You Need, Lantana, Italian for Beginners (who knew the Danes made movies like this?), Dr. Strangelove, The Descendants, Starman, My Life as a House, Big Night, Beginners, Station Agent, The Visitor, Notes on a Scandal, etc.
Music's a daily must. From Beethoven's piano sonatas to Bill Evans to Grace Potter and the Nocturnals. Poetry, too. Frost, Oliver, Kinnell, Sappho, Whitman, W. Berry, Gluck, Menashe, K Ryan, and lots more. Live music, mostly in small venues. The humor of Garrison Keillor, Dave Barry, etc. Museums: NCMA, Ackland, MFA in Boston, etc. Interesting food and lively conversation. A glass of good wine doesn't hurt.
Love well-made movies and lively discussions afterwards.
Good people, good movies, good conversation. A great combination. Thank you to all of the organizers, especially Mark for his vision and commitment over the years to creating a vibrant and meaningful community for those of us who love good movies and being with others who share our interests.
