Dante James is President and Owner of DMD Films LLC. Born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Independent Filmmaker Dante James has produced and directed numerous award-winning films. In 2009 he completed Harlem In Montmartre, A Paris Jazz Story for PBS’s Great Performances. His earlier projects included This Far By Faith: African-American Spiritual Journeys, a six part PBS Series. In 2006 Mr. James was awarded a national Emmy for his work on the PBS series Slavery and The Making of America, which was narrated by Morgan Freeman. In 2007 he produced and directed the critically acclaimed dramatic short The Doll which received numerous awards and screened at film festivals nation wide and at the Pan African International Film Festival in Cannes, France and Cape Town University in South Africa. . Earlier in his career he produced award winning films for Blackside Films the producers of the critically acclaimed PBS series Eyes on the Prize. Mr. James is currently an Artist-in-Residence instructor/filmmaker at Duke University and working on his next project an independent feature film scheduled to begin production in the fall of 2011.

Chieko Alice LLC is a Production and Distribution Company for Independent Films located in Durham, NC. Chieko Alice is currently working on a number of projects in various stage of development. These projects include feature films, shorts and documentaries. Chieko Alice is also a provider of Business Plans and Budgets for the Independent filmmaker. Chieko Alice LLC is owned and operated by LaMont L. Johnson with over 30 years experience producing events and entertainment in the Triangle area of NC.
