The Hollywood Web Television September Meetup

NEW Update: George Ruiz from ICM will be joining us as a speaker in place of Lydia Antonini who will speak to our group in October. I wanted to thank Lydia for helping bring George in to speak and thank George for coming in on such short notice, he has a tremendous amount of experience representing new media clients including Kim Evey who will also be speaking! I look forward to seeing you all there and another fun night of interesting and informative discussion. New speakers announced: Kim Evey: Producer of the web phenom "The Guild" (http://www.watchthegu...) and run away hit "Gorgeous Tiny Chicken Machine Show" (http://www.gorgeousti...) and Greg Benson from Mediocre Films ( Edgy, decidedly un-PC comedy shorts & series that combine great laughs with high production values. As of Sept. 2008, Mediocre Films is the #27 All-Time Most Subscribed channel at YouTube. Please register today and come join our thriving community of online content creators!

The Hollywood Internet Comedy Meetup is now the new and improved Hollywood Web Television Meetup. Come enjoy our expanded outreach, meet new professionals working in the area and listen to some great speakers. This month we are joined by Lydia Antonini from Warner Brothers. We are also working to add 2 more fantastic speakers so stay tuned, but rsvp now because space at our new location, the Marc Goodson Screening Room at AFI, is limited. I look forward to seeing you all there! I would also love to give another huge shout out to our sponsor Tubefilter for making these meetups possible, if you haven't already please check out this great resource at http://www.tubefilter.... Warm Regards,

It was incredible information! I was very glad to hear about IAB, the agent industry for the web and to meet other content creators. Fantastic - as was the venue!

The guests provided insightful observations about their involvement in the creation, cost and distribution of their Web TV content. As George Ruiz (ICM) pointed out "belief in the content by its creator, consistency and popularity" played a vital role in getting Evey and Benson's productions signed and becoming a mainstay on YouTube. Kudos to Tyler Marin, Drew Baldwin, Marc Campbell and Team Tubefilter for setting up this event.

The guests spoke for too long and it felt like a 101-level class in making web videos. I've been making web shows for 3 years and would have appreciated a higher level of discussion, similar to the topics addressed on Tim Street's blog: At this point, it's time to move on to discussions on how to secure different types of funding.

Very informative and precisely what I've been looking for -- information to help me more forward with my goals of producing a program for the net. Thanks! Mo' mo' mo'!

In addition to the speakers, we'll be discussing some important issues that affect all those in the web television space. Don't miss out.
