Be Come Rain!

Join in this rhythmic moving prayer and musical sound journey, with other spiritual travelers.

In order to pray for something, and to honor it, it is helpful to become that thing, to the best of our ability. As we feel it, hear it, love it, then we can more likely receive and share it.

We are in that fabulous season we call Monsoon!  While some rain has fallen from the sky already, our desert still needs rain.  We need rain.    We have been blessed to feel the rhythms of Rain Coming, for this event we will do our best to embody and honor the water that moistens us. We show gratitude that Nature's moist and luscious blessings rain down on us, and within us.

If so desired, come dressed to honor the essential moisture within all of us (water, rain).  Honor the Rain Beings by intuitively moving ("dancing" is not necessary) to a sound collage of various rhythmic music segments, rain, secada, hummingbird and thunder  recorded and gathered by Quynn.  As our sphere is formed and our cloud is circled, we release our prayers with rhythm, asking Rain to come to our desert, and that moist blessings rain down on/in us.  Becoming Rain.  Our "goal" is to feel rain in our bodies, and give gratitude for rain, how rain comes, how rain is, how rain feels while living in the sunbaked Sonoran Desert.

Music selections include James Asher, Ono Teave, Steve Roach, Random Rab, A Tribe Called Red, Gaia, Stag Hare, David Starfire.

Even if you have never prayed in such a way, you are a valuable participant in a circle such as this.  If you feel grateful to the Water Beings, then you are welcome in this circle.  There will be over an hour of music and sounds for you to move by. Meditative to Ecstatic!  Sit, stand, lie down, move around... :)  Bring a yoga mat if you have one.

Your host is Quynn Elizabeth, shamanic practitioner, multimedia artist and nature lover.  Many sounds were recorded by Quynn on public lands around the west.

This event is offered by sliding scale $5-$10, to pay for space, and help Earth Web Media continue to offer these events.  No one will be turned away. Thank you for your donations!!!
