Tap Takeover at Whole Foods, River Version

The Craft Beer Meetup posted this, and I thought I'd pass the word along. Kudos to Katie Leary for doing the original posting.

New Belgium will be doing a full tap takeover at the e.River Bar at Whole Foods on River and Craycroft Roads. While I don't have the lineup yet, I am sure it will be a great event. The bar has around 25 taps so there should be a great selection.

The tap takeovers normally run 4-7 pm but due to work I can't get there until 5 pm. I will let Jason the bar manager know we are coming and hopefully he can save us some tables. I will also try to get the lineup from him. These takeovers are normally crowded so expect a crowd especially early in the event.

They have a nice little menu of food to order in the bar area. You can also get food from the cold and hot prepared food areas and eat it in the bar. There is a huge cooler selection of beer if you don't want New Belgium. You can pick one out of the cooler and they will open it for you to enjoy in the bar.

Please bring cash to tip the bartenders! The register at the bar is a regular register as a grocery store so you cannot add tip to your credit card purchase.

These are some of the beer I am hoping they have on tap and New Belgium's description:

Pumpkick-What’s that bite of tartness doing in a pumpkin beer? Adding the unexpected kick of cranberry juice to brighten this traditionally spiced seasonal ale. PUMPKICK is brewed with plenty of pumpkin juice, cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice, but it's the cranberries and touch of lemongrass that send your taste buds sailing. Lips of Faith Imperial Coffee Chocolate Stout-Serving up cold and jet black, this imperial stout should be taken seriously for about one minute as the dark foam builds. Then, enjoy its velvety chocolate-covered smoothness and delicious aroma of sustainably-grown, locally roasted coffee. Birthdate: October, 2012Body: Medium-FullABV: 10%IBU: 39Hops: WillametteMalts: Pale, Midnight, BarleyYeast: Ale YeastFruits/Spice: Coffee, ChocolateAroma: Rich, with lots of coffee and cocoa/baker’s chocolate aromatics. Lots of roasted and rich dark malts.Mouthfeel: Smooth lip smacking and mouth coating. Warm, boozy and slight lingering astringency from the espresso.Flavor: Sweetness upfront, balanced with a welcome mild bitterness in the middle and finish.Visual: Moonless midnight. Opaque black, with tan foam and firm lacing.

Lips of Faith Coconut Curry Hefeweizen-Coconut Curry Hefeweizen has been pouring down the history of American Home Brewing for many years, from the legendary Charlie Papazian to the 2010 National Homebrewer, Remi Bonnart. The latter helped New Belgium brew this hazy, straw-colored gem to life. The aroma is bold and big with coconut and curry tones and a hint of banana from the hefe yeast. With a vast spice list of cinnamon, coriander, fenugreek, ginger, kaffir lime, and cayenne pepper this beer carries a bit of heat but the alcohol soothes the finish. Coconut Curry Hefe will leave an inquisitive smile on the drinker’s mug. Lips of Faith Transatlantique Kriek-In a never-ending quest to create new beers and defy category, New Belgium Brewing and Brewerij Boon of Belgium have partnered together again to create Transatlantique Kriek - a spontaneously fermented lambic ale made with Polish cherries. This authentic kriek beer began life in the oaken vessels at Frank Boon's brewery in the Lembeek region of Belgium. After more than two years aging, Boon's offering shipped across the Atlantic and found its way to the intuitive palate of New Belgium's Brewmaster Peter Bouckaert. After much sampling and internal consultation, Peter and his brew staff created a full-bodied golden lager to round out the light-bodied kriek. The cherry nose gives way to a pleasingly sour flash across the palate that rolls gently into a slightly sweet finish. Crisp, effervescent carbonation keeps the mouthfeel bright and delightfully tingly. Birthdate: October, 2003Body: LightABV: 8%IBU: 8Hops: WillametteMalts: Pale, Red Wheat, Carapils, Roasted BarleyYeast: Lager yeastAroma: Wise cherries with the musty linger of oaken barrels. Mouthfeel: Exciting bursts of champagne-like carbonation, clean refreshing finish.Flavor: This has all the sours: malic (green apple), lactic (sharp), acetic (vinegar), butyric (biley). Real cherry taste up front and a nice complex sourness. Visual: Gorgeous ruby red with pink foam

Pretty much anything from the Lips of Faith series will be awesome.

Come out for great Fort Collins brewing company's beer!

Nice event. I got there early and left early so didn't see any Beer Nutz, but had a few very nice beers and met some interesting people. Rhonda, the NB rep, is awesome.

Just so everyone know the brewers are usually there 4-7 for the tappings. Also the bar closes at 9. Since it is in a grocery store they don't have typical bar hours.
