For many years, most publishers have included a brief indication of game complexity somewhere on the box: recommended age group, estimated time to play and number of players. Now, the games you'd find at Toys-R-Us would mostly be for ages 6-8 and up, lasting less than an hour. Adult gaming groups (which occasionally include adolescents) tend to play games rated age 12 and up, lasting 30 minutes to three hours. I'd guess the average length of a game at one of our meets would be 1.5 hours--maybe a bit less.

Can anyone tell me what kind of games are typically played? And how many people tend to show up? I'm familiar with most traditional board games... But I'm not recognizing a lot of what's listed here...

Right. ^ What Jodi said. I'm not sure what you mean by traditional, but if by any chance you mean like Monopoly, Life,Sorry, etc. you won't find them being played here. 'Strategy' is a good catch-all word to describe most of the games we play in this group. I see you used to play Risk. That's more in the range of games we play. Hope this helps.

Thanks guys! Turns out I have to work tomorrow, but maybe I'll make it to another event to see if I'd like your games. :)

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
