Snow White and the Seven Falls

I know, it's a corny title, but it snowed today!  And when there is snow and rain in the mountains, it's always fun to head over to Seven Falls.

This is an intermediate hike and it is suitable for beginners who are fit.  With the recent rain and snow, I would expect water in the creek.  There are multiple creek crossings, so be prepared for some rock hoping if necessary.  We will be hanging out at the pools for a while so expect this hike to take at least 4 hours.

Type: intermediate
Distance: approx 8 miles round-trip.
Elevation gain: approx 700 feet

What to bring:

  1. water (at least 2-3 liters)
  2. hat
  3. sunscreen
  4. camera (optional)
  5. snacks
  6. an extra pair of socks if you do step in the creek

A parking pass is $5 for the day, or $20 for an annual pass (an extremely good investment).

Great hike today! I met a lot of nice people and reaffirmed why we chose Tucson to move to. Looking forward to more hikes.

Quite honestly, if we hadn't gotten to the falls when we did I might have had to quit; however, much easier going back. Lovely people
and thanks to those who lent me poles (Bev & Ron). I enjoyed everyone and the absolutely perfectly gorgeous day!!! Thank you, Don, you are so great at this!!! (And I'm surprised you are 50!).

I would like to come but I'm nervous. I always look at these posts but never actually go. How does it work if someone is slower than the group. I think I should be fine but I would hate to be left behind. I haven't done this hike since I was a kid.

Lisa, unless you have some kind of physical limitation, I have no doubt you can do this hike. Consider this, I'm 50, have a bad knee, and am carrying too many extra pounds. I'll try not to slow you down. :) Heddi raised a good point, though. If you or anyone else can't make it the entire way, they can head back or wait for the group to return.

Oops...I hesitated too long. Typical. Hopefully I'll catch the next one. Thanks for your responses.

I must let everyone know that I had to bring my car into the shop today. I hope to get it back on Friday, but that might not happen. If the worse happens, would someone be able to give me a ride? I live over by Ft. Lowell and Country Club.
