Wednesday Tumamoc Conditioning Walk

We'll meet at the corner of West Anklam and Tumamoc Hill road at 5:30 pm and take a quick walk up the hill. Please remember to bring water and a flashlight in case the moon is hiding. Here's the skinny: 3.1 miles roundtrip, 730 ft climb, this is not a guided tour. We will be going at our own pace to stay in shape.

Regarding the monsoon: tucson monsoon can cause rain outside your window, but it may not be raining at tumamoc. I commit to meeting at tumamoc each Wednesday and deciding whether or not to hike up Tumamoc based on conditions there. Be adult and responsible; hike at your own risk.

Please note that since this a regular event every Wednesday, the organizer might not always be able to attend.  There are a number of other members who do this walk though.  If you are coming for the first time, look for a group of people at the start of the paved path by Anklam Road.  Keep in mind that Tumamoc is very popular, e.g. there may be a 100 other people walking up the hill.  Just look for a group of people (3 or more) at the start of the path and don't hesitate to approach and ask them if they are the hiking group.  The group leaves promptly, though.  If you are late, you are still welcome to walk the hill by yourself.

decided at the last minute to try it. sorry i didn't connect with you. got there approx 5:40pm. anyway, wouldn't have kept up with y'all.

but... thank you goddess, thank you meetup, thank you to the tumamoc hiking group organizer... for getting me out and over there!

never would have even known about it let alone gone there. it was a BIG challenge for my out-of-condition self ~ i felt like i was climbing everest (minus a few details) but with frequent stops & sips, i made it. what a great panorama below and around, and what a perfect sunset from up there! will plan to go again, maybe get to say "hi' at 5:30... if that insane rush-hour traffic lets me arrive on time.
