9095 E. Tanque Verde Rd, Tucson, AZ , Tucson, AZ
We will hike at the top of Mt. Lemmon. Will check out some great scenery, monumental rock formations, Lemmon Rock Look out Station, and one Arizona’s biggest pine trees, (forest service calls this tree Ole Granddad). I’m rating this hike; Beginner + to Intermediate because of the elevation gain (600 ft.). We start the hike at the parking lot, 9000 ft. and hike down to Mt. Lemmon trail #5 at approx. 8400 ft. So the hike back to the parking lot is pretty much all uphill. On the way back we will take the Meadows trail and check out the giant pine tree. Make sure you are physically fit before you sign up for the hike.
After the hike, if there is any interest, we can stop at the cookie Cabin in Summer Haven on the way down.
We will meet at La buzz at 8:30 AM and car pool from there to the trail head.
Distance: Approx. 4.0 Miles out and Back
