Founded in 1824, the National Gallery houses a collection of over 2,300 paintings dating from the mid-13th century to 1900. It is the fifth most visited art museum in the world, after the Musée du Louvre, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the British Museum and Tate Modern.
We will meet at outside the Gallery (the plinth with the giant blue chicken on Trafalgar Square) at 6.45 pm, and will wait 10 minutes before entering the museum. There is also a guided tour which lasts from 7 - 8 pm (assuming our group isn't too large to join). If you can only make it later, please feel free to join us inside. A contact number will be posted on this event page in order to facilitate this.
Nearest tube station: Charing Cross
