I moved from Chicago recently and have been wanting to check this place out. The show is only $12 (less if we get 15 or more) and we will have a reserved area together. After the show, since we'll be in the heart of Uptown, we'll go out for some drinks at a place to be determined.
To find the group, just ask for the Twin Cities Comedy and Wine Meetup when you get there. Or look for me, Carrie.
Here is the blurb plagiarized via copy and paste directly from the ComedySportz website:
ComedySportz is light-hearted insanity that appeals to people from every walk of life. We provide clean, positive entertainment that is guaranteed to please even the toughest crowd. If you have a pulse, it's highly likely that you'll laugh until it hurts. If you don't have a pulse, seek medical attention immediately.
Everything we do is improvised. We don't have scripts or pre-planned scenes. That's why a ComedySportz match wouldn't be possible without your suggestions. Just make sure your suggestions are clean, or the referee could call the "Brown Bag Foul" on you, and you'll end up wearing a paper bag over your head.
Show begins promptly at 8:00pm. Admission is $12.00 per person.
Group reservations of 15 or more enjoy the following perks:
- Discounted tickets
- Reserved seating
- Multitude of dining options in the surrounding area (Calhoun Square and the Uptown Area)
- Adjacent ramp and on-street parking available
- Handicap Accessible, non-smoking, 230 seat theater
- An interactive improv experience that any age or walk of life will enjoy
