NYE Comedy Extravagnsa - Al Jackson and Forrest Shaw

Ok, I got this worked out.

NYE Comedy show featuring Al Jackson and Forrest Shaw.

Show is normally $25, but we get it for $20. But that's not all! You want dinner? Comedy and dinner is $35 (normally $40). Still not enough? Well there's music, dancing (in which I will participate only as a spectator), a champagne toast at midnight, and a cash bar (in which I will fully participate).

Think you might not want to drive home? Well I got that covered. The whole thing is at the Ramada. You don't got to go nowhere. Of course staying isn't free, but they have a discount on that. $199 gets you a room, two tickets to the show, 2 tickets to dinner, an early check-in so you can tidy up, a late checkout to nurse the hangover, breakfast to replace the food you puked out, and orange juice to replace the lost fluids and vitamins.

Still not good enough? How about a hospitality suite, some wine (we are a wine meetup after all), and a meet and greet with the comedians?

Not sure if you want to stay overnight, but would like the option if it turns out a doughnut truck overturned on 494 and the place is crawling with Minneapolis's finest? Got that covered too. If after you start drinking you decide this is fun and you don't want to stop, we have a discount on a room that brings it down to about 1/2 price. No breakfast or OJ on that - it's just place to crash and save your ass from a DUI (and to avoid having to be your cellmate Bubba's girlfriend for the night).

So there you have it. Dinner, comedy, and wine all in one spot. No walking in the cold. No driving in the snow. No hunting for a parking spot. No DUIs. No handcuffs. Well maybe handcuffs.

Yes, you're very welcome.

To get the discount, you need to use this code when you buy tickets or tickets and dinner: NYEPARTY. So go ahead and book your tickets now. You can buy at the door, but the discount won't work there. Here is the link to buy tickets: Joke Joint

I will email out my cell number to those who are going. And I'll post the suite location when I know it.

When you sign up, post in the comments whether you're in for the show, the dinner, the room, all the above, or some other combo.

Oh times. Kind of loose except the show is at 10 and the NYE toast is, well you guessed it, at midnight. Otherwise, I say we start eating and drinking around 7:30. I know I will.

Okey Dokey. We're here. Checked in. Construction in the hotel is creating a bit of mess, but not too bad. Look for the temporary checkin. Then go upstairs to the second floor. Toward the back is the comedy club. Go there, get your tickets and meet in the food / bar area right next to it. Or meet at the bar first. Whatever you want. I'm headed there now.

Gary, where are we to meet around 7:30, 7:45?? Please put your cell phone out too. I'm coming for dinner and comedy, but not staying. I live in Bloomington, and not a big drinker.

Anna, I'll email everyone tomorrow with my cell. Here's my regular number which forwards to my cell:[masked]-0421. I don't mind listing that because I can change it if I need to. The cell, I keep a little more secret - not to TC Comedy and Wine members, but this site is open to anyone. Could be crazies lurking. Or terrorists. Or stalkers. Or crazy stalker terrorists.

As to meeting, we'll be at the hotel before 7:30. I'm not sure where the dinner is or the comedy. I know the comedy isn't in the place it used to be. I also don't know when they'll open the suite. I figure gather in a bar / restaurant and go from there. I"ll scope it out tomorrow and then let people know. Calling me will always work.

Dinner/show ticket booked (you have to wait until the last page for the promo code). I have a bottle of Freixenet and some cheap Prosecco left over from Christmas (only the best for my family!) that I'll bring along for the hospitality suite. Looking forward to see you all and having some NYE fun!

Great. I have some special glasses that I picked up in Indiana that will be perfect for your fine wine.

Great research Gary! Not definite yet, but I will likely go. I'm considering getting the room package although I don't have anyone with me, just so I don't have to drive home after drinking.

"I am considering getting the room package although I don't have anyone with me". Maybe you don't have anyone with you now, but...

LOL...true, probability is never 0 until the time passes.

Ok, the site is working now. There is a $2.50 shipping and handling, which is annoying and bogus since there is no shipping or handling, but I'm not going to complain at this point (beyond the complaint I just made). Anyway, it's good to go. Get your tickets while they last.

The Joke Joint payment doesn't seem to have a place to put the discount code. At least I didn't see it. I'm checking with Ken. Will post back when it's sorted out (or determined to be user error).

Jennifer, we'll be there all night. Well at least Sarah and I will. If you miss the 10 PM show, there is a 12:30 show if you want. It's cheap - like $10 or $15. Or you can walk in a little late to the 10. Or you can just hang out at the bar till we get done. Lots of options.

I just got the discount code for the show or show and dinner combo, it is NYEPARTY. Who would have guessed it would be that clever. So go ahead and book your tickets now. You can buy at the door, but the discount won't work there.
