Today, we'll head to Liberty Bell Arch. On the way to the arch, we'll pass an old mine. Then we'll do some easy cross-country to get to the arch. From the arch, we'll head up to a small plateau overlooking the Colorado River. The twist will consist of taking a different route in for part of the way. If you haven't seen the arch and the river overlook, now is your time. If you have, the cross-country and new path in will add new interest.
For those who live on southeast side, you can meet us at Horsethief Canyon Road parking lot on US 93. We should be there about 10:30, or so. If you intend to meet there, let me know.
Hike will be 6 miles long, with 1000' of gain. Pace will be moderate, and there will be little scrambling.
Bring 1-2 quarts of water and lunch.
Don't forget your windbreaker, camera, and sense of adventure.
